BoringProof privacy notice

Updated September 23, 2026

BoringProof helps instructors create classroom resources. This notice describes data used by the instructor tools at boringproof.videoflashback.com and the optional Google Slides export.

Your account and classroom resources

BoringProof uses your sign-in information and membership records to authenticate you and control access. Lesson directions and uploaded materials are processed to fulfill your requests. Supabase provides authentication, account records and private file storage. OpenAI processes lesson content and review requests. Avoid uploading participant names, contact details, identifiers or other personal participant information.

For Your Practice and Your Presentations, prepared lesson content is sent to Gamma to create document designs and artwork. Gamma processes submitted content and associated technical data to provide and operate its service. Its data handling, including sharing with service providers and disclosures required by law, is described in Gamma’s privacy policy.

Generated files are available in your private BoringProof account for 30 days. Expired files are removed during routine cleanup. Request and account records may remain to operate your account, track usage and diagnose failures. Contact us below for help with access or deletion requests.

Memberships and teacher beta testing

Stripe handles paid checkout and billing. BoringProof stores the customer and subscription identifiers, plan, status, and billing dates needed to provide access; it does not store your card details. A beta invitation is private and can be accepted by one verified account. Beta testing ends November 1, 2026 at midnight Arizona time and does not automatically become a paid subscription.

The BoringProof owner can review beta teachers’ account name and email, invitation status, and usage by tool, including completed or failed requests and recorded token totals. Technical preparation diagnostics show slide counts and validation issues without displaying lesson text or uploaded files. This helps evaluate and repair the service during beta testing. Other teachers cannot access this report.

Optional Google Slides connection

When you choose Google Slides, Google asks you to authorize access limited to files used with BoringProof. This feature uploads the selected, already-created PowerPoint to your Google Drive and converts it into an editable Google Slides file. It looks up copies previously created by BoringProof so that opening the same resource again reuses your copy.

This feature does not browse the rest of your Drive or read your Gmail, contacts or calendar. It does not read content back from your Google Slides file or send Google Drive content to AI services. The file lookup returns the ID needed to reopen your copy; a BoringProof file identifier is saved as app metadata on that copy. Your browser also reads the connected Google account’s email address to open the copy in the correct account when you use multiple Google accounts. This address is used in the Google link and is not saved to BoringProof’s database.

Google authorization uses a short-lived access token held in browser memory. BoringProof does not request an offline refresh token or store your Google access token in its database or browser storage. Transfers to Google use HTTPS. Google processes and stores the copy under your Google account and its own privacy terms.

Your control

The export requests a private copy and does not add sharing permissions. Your Google Workspace administrator’s rules may also apply. You control subsequent sharing and editing in Google Drive. Your Drive copy remains there until you delete it, independently of BoringProof’s 30-day file availability.

You can remove BoringProof’s authorization in your Google Account’s third-party connections settings. Removing authorization does not delete copies already in Drive. PDF and PowerPoint downloads do not require a Google connection.
